Sick To Death

from Sick To Death EP by Nathan James King

/

about

I spent the winter of 2013/14 out busking as i wasn't working for a while. It had it's lovely moments but was mostly very soul destroying, this is about that and generally about depression.

lyrics

I'm sick to death of the same old lull,
I can see my breath as i'm shaking cold.
Out on the street singing tales of old,
How much would you bet, that no one knows,

The things i've seen,
The things i've done
Too much to see, much to young.

I'm not a beggar,
Nor a thief.
I'm just a singer,
who needs relief.

I don't do drugs, i can't afford to drink.
Hustling for pennies, to make ends meat.
I left my job 'cos i had a dream
That one day i'll be the one
That pays those on the street

For the things i've seen,
The things i've done
Too much to see, much to young.

I'm not a beggar,
Nor a thief.
I'm just a singer,
who needs relief.
So give me a reason
To believe
That somebody's listening
And sees what's underneath.

Fingers are calloused,
Lungs stinging cold
Still the mind grows restless
But my spirits are low
Fingers are calloused,
Lungs stinging cold
Still the mind grows restless
But my spirits are low

I'm sick to death
I'm sick to death
I'm sick to death
